  1. Dear Lady Gaga, I hope you have the most beautiful birthday yet. If there is anyone who can find the light in such a dark, scary time for the world, it is yourself. You have been a beacon of light for myself and many, many others since we first heard "Just Dance" in 2008 and have continued to push us to be our kindest, most accepting selves for nearly 12 years. I have played piano since I was six years old, and you are the reason I have kept going. Watching you sit down at a keyboard and play your heart out is the only motivation I need to sit down and play the acoustic version of "Paparazzi" or "Til It Happens To You". Music is therapeutic and your music in particular is an escape from the pain of reality, truly encouraging me to dance through my own pain. You have also made me see the art and beauty in tattoos. I have 13 now (and I'm only 19) and don't intend on stopping anytime soon. They help me see the beauty in myself and serve as permanent reminders that pain can lead to beauty, power, and strength... especially the ones that you inspired! I've seen you perform live twice, at the artRave: The ARTPOP Ball in Chicago and The Joanne World Tour in Chicago. I was supposed to see you at the Born This Way Ball as well, but your health and wellness is always a priority. I can't wait to dance my heart out with you on my twentieth birthday at Wrigley this year! Once again, thank you for inspiring me and so many others to be brave and strong for ourselves, our families, and our communities during this scary time. I wish you nothing but love and light as we soon make our escape to Chromatica. With love, Nic (@niclastname)
