Lady Gaga attended the 88th Oscar Awards tonight (Feb. 28th) in Los Angeles, and performed her Oscar-nominated song Til It Happens To You, featured in The Hunting Ground and co-written by legendary singer-songwriter Diane Warren.
Introduced by US Vice President Joe Biden - a long time supporter of rape survivors and bringing justice to the criminals that commit rape - and accompanied by around 50 survivors of rape on the stage, Gaga performed a powerful rendition of the song that was written to bring attention to the issue of rape, but particularly the reaction others have towards survivors when they come forward.
Wearing Brandon Maxwell, Gaga walked the red carpet and looked stunning. This is the first Academy Award nomination for Gaga but not the first Warren, the latter of whom has been nominated countless times, including last year for her song Grateful which was performed by Rita Ora. Other nominees this year included The Weeknd for 'Earned It', and self-confessed Monster Sam Smith for 'The Writing's On the Wall'.
