First of all I would like to thank each one of you for taking the time to record a video for this project. It's been a while since we did a "worldwide fan project". Videos like this take a lot of time to organize and edit, but usually the final result is always worth the time spent on it. I'm definitely not a professional film-maker, and my editing skill are really average, but I did the best I could, and I really hope you all like it. It was really hard for me to pick the best part of each video (in fact I received more than 100), and I apologize I I didn't include more footage of some videos, but with all the material it was really challenging to remember all the good parts of each video (some of them were more than 1h long and without any cut). I would also like to nod at the fact that some of your videos were not in focus with the main topic at all: some of you lip-synced whole songs, others just nodded for the entire duration of the album, and others just sent videos that lasted 0.7 seconds. I also would like to personally apologize to the lady that sent me a video of her unwrapping Chromatica, but I had no idea how to include that. Anyway I tried my best to make you all appear at least for a short period of time, I really value the time taken to make all the videos and I'm still grateful for each submission.
When I asked last month if someone was interested in a streaming party on Zoom to listen Chromatica together, I was amazed by all the positive responses, but when her team told us that Chromatica would be released at midnight local time, I knew that I couldn't do it anymore, I wouldn't be fair to fans in the USA to hear the album from a streaming call, nor I could have asked Europeans fans to wait the following day. So I came up with this project.
I tried to keep the main style of the video as it was a real-time worldwide zoom party: at the beginning everyone is just having fun and enjoying the song and then, as soon as free woman drops I switch the focus to personal reactions and personal opinions, just like we are listening for the first time all together.
Hope you all enjoy and have fun as much as I did making it.
I would also would like to thank my dear friend Joaquín Benítez for rendering the amazing intro, and the amazing man that is Bobby Campbell for believing in this project.
